What is chakra healing?

Chakra healing is the practice of clearing and balancing the seven main energy centres that run along your spine, so energy flows freely between body, mind, and spirit. The word chakra means “wheel” in Sanskrit, an image for the way energy spins through the body. When a chakra is open, you feel steady and clear. When one is blocked or overactive, you feel it in your mood, your relationships, and even your physical body.

This free chakra guide walks you through each of the seven centres, helps you assess where you stand today, and gives you simple tools to restore balance: crystals, breath, movement, journaling, and affirmation. The companion workbook turns the guide into a daily practice you can print and return to. You do not have to fix yourself. You only have to come home to what is already whole.

The seven chakras at a glance

Seven energy centres run from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. The lower centres root you to the earth, the higher centres open you to spirit, and the heart is the bridge between them. Here is the full system in one view.

The seven chakras and how to balance each one

Each centre has its own character, its own signs of imbalance, and its own toolkit. Read the summary below, then open the matching post in the chakra series for the full teaching and workbook page.

Seven chakra healing crystals arranged by color from root to crown

1. Root Chakra – Muladhara

Earth · Base of spine · 396 Hz · LAM

Your foundation. When it is open you feel safe, steady, and at home in your body. Imbalance shows up as anxiety, money fear, restlessness, or feeling ungrounded.

Tools: red jasper, garnet, hematite · cedarwood & ginger oils · slow belly breathing · walking barefoot.

“I am safe and grounded in my body.”

2. Sacral Chakra – Svadhisthana

Water · Below the navel · 417 Hz · VAM

The home of feeling, flow, and creativity. Balanced, emotions move freely and you meet pleasure without guilt. Blocked, creativity stalls and intimacy feels hard.

Tools: carnelian, orange calcite · ylang-ylang & sweet orange oils · hip-opening movement · creative play.

“I allow myself to feel, create, and enjoy.”

3. Solar Plexus – Manipura

Fire · Upper abdomen · 528 Hz · RAM

“I am worthy, capable, and free to choose.”

4. Heart Chakra – Anahata

Air · Centre of the chest · 639 Hz · YAM

The bridge between body and spirit. Balanced, you give and receive love freely. Blocked, you hold grief, struggle to forgive, or put everyone else first.

“I am open to giving and receiving love.”

5. Throat Chakra – Vishuddha

Ether · The throat · 741 Hz · HAM

The centre of truth and voice. Balanced, you speak honestly and listen well. Out of balance, you hold back, over-explain, or carry tension in the neck and jaw.

Tools: blue lace agate, aquamarine · peppermint & eucalyptus oils · humming and chanting · honest journaling.

“I speak my truth with calm and clarity.”

6. Third Eye – Ajna

Light · Between the brows · 852 Hz · AUM

The centre of intuition and insight. Balanced, you trust your inner knowing. Blocked, you overthink, feel foggy, or dismiss your gut.

“I trust my intuition and inner wisdom.”

7. Crown Chakra – Sahasrara

Thought · Top of the head · 963 Hz · Silence

Your connection to spirit and meaning. Balanced, you feel part of something larger. Blocked, you feel cynical, scattered, or alone in the universe.

The method

How to balance your chakras: a simple 6-step practice

You do not need crystals, experience, or a free afternoon to begin. Follow these six steps, the same path laid out in the workbook.

  1. Start with the system. Meet the seven chakras as a whole, where each sits, what it governs, and how they work together from root to crown.
  2. Take the self-assessment. Work through the symptom checklists to notice which centres feel out of balance for you right now. Honesty serves you here.
  3. Map your balance profile. Plot every chakra on a single page so you can see your energy at a glance and choose where to begin.
  4. Work chakra by chakra. For each centre, study the teaching, explore the toolkit of crystals, oils, movement, and breath, then complete the workbook page.
  5. Follow the 7-day plan. A gentle one-week ritual that moves up the body, one chakra a day, to bring the whole system into flow.
  6. Track and return. Use the daily and weekly trackers to keep the practice alive, then revisit your assessment in a month to see how far you have come.

Quick self-check

For each chakra, count how many imbalance signs feel true today. 0-2 means balanced, tend it to keep it flowing. 3-4 means it is asking for attention. 5-6 makes it a priority, begin your healing here. The full checklists are inside the workbook.

One week

The 7-day chakra healing plan

Questions

Chakra healing FAQ

Is the chakra guide and workbook really free?

Yes. Enter your email above and we send the printable Chakra Healing Guide & Workbook to your inbox at no cost. It includes the self-assessment, a toolkit for every centre, and the 7-day plan.

What are the 7 chakras and what do they do?

The seven main chakras are the Root (safety), Sacral (creativity), Solar Plexus (power), Heart (love), Throat (truth), Third Eye (intuition), and Crown (connection). They run from the base of the spine to the top of the head and govern how energy flows through body, mind, and spirit.

How do I know which chakra is blocked?

Notice where you feel stuck. Money fear or anxiety often points to the Root. Creative blocks or guilt point to the Sacral. Low self-worth points to the Solar Plexus. The workbook’s self-assessment turns this into a simple checklist so you can see which centre needs attention most.

How do you balance your chakras at home?

Start by assessing all seven centres, then work on the one that needs the most attention using its matching tools: crystals, essential oils, breathwork, movement, affirmation, and journaling. The 7-day plan moves up the body one chakra a day to bring the whole system back into flow.

Do I need crystals or experience to start?

No. Crystals and oils are helpful but optional. Your breath and attention are the only essentials. The guide is written for complete beginners, and you can begin today with the free workbook.

How long does chakra healing take?

There is no finish line, only a deeper relationship with yourself. Many people feel a shift within one 7-day cycle. Revisit your assessment after a month to see how your balance profile has changed.
